Excellent information. Great text but a poor condition

Excellent information. Great text but a poor condition. The pages are barely marked but the cover is highly damaged and coming apart. I was hoping for a volume that was a little less used and the book was listed in "good condition". Not the end of the world just a little disappointed when I received the copy and it was more beat up than I expected.

Excellent Resource to Engage Others in Conversation

Shadowbox Press does it again!
First, their picture books and now their oversized deck of 52 conversation cards.
One side features a clear photo and the other, nine questions to promote discussion.
Excellent resource to help cognitively impaired loved ones engage in conversation; especially, during those quiet moments when there's nothing to say.
As a Toastmaster, I also used these cards for Table Topics. (See photo.)
Whether you're an Activity Director or Social Worker in an adult day care center, assisted living community, or even in a nursing home, I recommend having a set of these Conversation Cards on hand for simple ways to engage those who live with dementia such as Alzheimer's.

Gave me the confidence to return to bedside nursing!

This has some great information in it for both a new and seasoned nurse. I saw the ICU facts in a bookstore and compared and I really don't think the ICU book is necessary as an addition, this book has so much info in it. I was going back to bedside nursing after years as a manager and this little reference has given me the confidence and information I need to answer patient and doctor questions and look things up in a hurry. I paired it with a tiny med reference book and there has rarely been a question I can't answer! It will make you look like a genius nurse!

Courageous

When I first read this book, I couldn't put it down. It was definitely a page-turner. The book has many plots going on.

There were times when I cried and other times when I felt very angry about the injustice and discrimination Amina and the other characters faced in the story.

The book raises awareness on fraud, child abuse and discrimination against women.

One of the things I learned from this book was the importance of education and how it can affect our society.

I found this non-fictional account intriguing and quite eye-opener. In summary, it is very hard to put down, brilliantly written and I am very keen to read more by this author.

More than just an introduction

This is a classic -- the best, most elegantly presented coverage of Econometric fundamentals I've ever seen. Professor Dhrymes doesn't water down the presentation. This is a rigorous analysis, but it's also remarkably clear. As with any mathematical text, some investment is required to get familiar with the author's style and notation, but once on board, the payoff is tremendous. Dhryme's clarity of thought and artful use of algebric notation can reduce many otherwise Byzantine relationships to the simplicy of "2 + 2 = 4".
Dhrymes is an authentic master of his craft -- this book offers the chance to learn from the best.

Excellent overview of ecological genetics!

I am a graduate student studying behavioral ecology. I have taken courses in ecological genetics and evolutionary ecology. Most professors don't use a text book of any sort when teaching on these topics. This book is an excellent reference for learning the fundamentals about these topics. It includes current and classic examples from the primary literature as well as a carefully constructed glossary of terms. I highly recommend this resource to both professors teaching courses to upper level undergraduates and graduate students!

Easy to Understand Textbook

This is a great textbook that could easily be used in any evolution or genetics class. It clearly describes issues like evolution and natural selection in the context of ecological genetics. The examples are interesting and stay in the reader's mind, and the problem sets and online answers are a great resource. This book also serves as a handy reference guide anytime you need to find a formula or definition. It's appropriate for upper level undergraduate courses or introductory graduate courses.

Rarely do you encounter a technical book that you actually enjoy reading cover to cover. Beyond the content, which is superb, structurally this is the best written and organized textbook I've ever used. The prose is clear, clean, concise, while still being comprehensive, with well thought out examples. Anyone doing pop. gen. or eco. gen. should have this on their bookshelf.
